INGREDIENTS
2 cups + 3 tablespoons of Flour
3 tablespoons of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
1 egg
1/2 cup of milk
40 grams of melted butter
2 teaspoons of baking powder
Chocolate Glaze
1/2 cup of icing sugar
4 tablespoons of cocoa powder
3 tablespoons of milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
INSTRUCTIONS
1. In a bowl mix the floor,nutmeg,sugar, baking powder and salt. Set to the side.
1. In a cup add milk, egg and melted butter.
2. Combine the dry and wet ingredients together and mix the dough with a wooden spoon…add more milk if dry ( the dough will be sticky, this is what you want in order to get the right consistency).
3. Add half a teaspoon of oil onto the work area and knead the dough for 10-15 minutes.
4. Flour the area and the top of the dough and roll it. Cut into doughnuts with a doughnut cutter or you can use a glass and a small bottle lid.
5. Fry them in oil until they are golden on each side. Set them aside and glaze them with the chocolate glaze.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR GLAZE
1. In a bowl mix the sugar and the cocoa powder. Slowly stir in the milk and vanilla extract,mix until smooth.
2. Dip the doughnuts in the glaze and rest to harden.
